April is Month of the Military Child

April is Month of the Military Child in the United States and Fort Campbell officials are honoring children who sacrifice time with their mothers and fathers who are often away defending freedom.

Fort Campbell Garrison Commander, Col. Andrew Jordan says while the sacrifice of the men and women of the military is often honored and recognized, their children also play a part in the family’s service to the country.

Josh Adams is the superintendent of Fort Campbell and Fort Knox schools and says students will be encouraged to wear purple in honor of the Month of the Military Child on April 19.

Other activities will also be planned this month at the schools on post.
