Rainy week in the forecast

If April showers bring May flowers, then the beginning of this month could mean a colorful end to Spring, as forecasters are expecting a wet weather pattern to hang around for a while.

Kevin Smith with the National Weather Service in Paducah said during the weekly conference call that rain will be in the forecast through Wednesday and while there could be a hail-producing thunderstorm Wednesday, a major outbreak of severe weather is not expected.

Temperatures will max out in the 60’s each day through Friday, cool to near freezing Friday night and then warm back up substantially by Sunday.

Smith says next week is looking to be warmer and wetter than average, a weather pattern that may persist for a while.

Flooding does not look to be a concern for this week at this point.
