County blanks UHA, Hopkinsville wins Friday/Saturday’s Games

Christian County blanked University Heights 5-0 in 8th district action Friday night. The Colonels scored in the 4th on an infield single by Josh Snorton that brought home Elijah Underhill. Jacob Jenkins added a two run single in the fifth and Preston Phan a two run single in the sixth. Christian County had just six hits. Aiden Lewis went the distance to get the win, allowing no runs on four hits and struck out seven. JT DeArmond had two of the four Blazer hits as Ian Tyler took the pitching loss. Christian County improved to 11-0/3-0 in district play while UHA fell to 5-5/0-1 in district games.

Hopkinsville used three run innings in the first and fourth innings in dispatching Henderson County 7-1. The Tigers Preston Chaudoin went 3-4 at the plate with a double and also picked up the pitching win, allowing one unearned run and three hits in 6 2/3 innings and striking out 10. Jacob Dilday and Zach Moss added two hits each for Hopkinsville now 3-3 on the season.

Saturday’s Games: Christian County welcomes Warren East at noon and Union County at 5 pm, Hopkinsville entertains Logan County in a game that will start at 4 pm instead of noon as originally scheduled, Fort Campbell entertains Kenwood.
