Melissa Thompson will serve as the Communications Director for the Pennyrile Area Development District, effective immediately.
According to a news release, Thompson will be responsible for PADD’s overall communication strategies including branding, public relations, web presence and social media, as well as providing support to the Executive Director, Senior Management Team, and PADD Board of Directors.
Thompson says, “I am excited and honored to transition into this new role. Communication, whether through verbal, written or digital means, has always been my passion. I look forward to telling the stories of how our dedicated staff are making our Pennyrile region a better place to live.”
Thompson joined the PADD staff as a Workforce Liaison in 2005 to assist with data entry and technology related tasks and quickly began managing workforce public relation efforts. She is an alumna of Murray State University with a Master of Science degree in Organizational Communication.
