NFL

The NFL is approving a major change to its overtime rules. Both teams are now guaranteed a possession in overtime in the playoffs. The contest goes to sudden death if the score is tied following each team’s initial possession. However, the game will be declared over if the team kicking off to start overtime scores a safety against the team that first possesses the ball.

The Baltimore Ravens are signing head coach John Harbaugh to a new three-year contract extension. The deal keeps him in Baltimore through 2025. Harbaugh was set to enter the final season of his previous contract. It will be his 15th overall in Baltimore. The 59-year-old has compiled a record of 137-and-88, and 11-and-8 in the postseason. He has guided the Ravens to nine playoff appearances and a victory in Super Bowl 47.

NHL

Michael McCarron scored twice in the Nashville Predators 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators. Tanner Jeannot and Matt Duchene also scored for Nashville, The Predators improved to 39-24-and-4. Nashville visits the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night.

NBA

The Memphis Grizzlies visit the San Antonio Spurs tonight while the Indiana Pacers welcome the Denver Nuggets.

Golf

Tiger Woods may be on the verge of making another comeback. ESPN reports sources said the five-time Masters winner played a practice round along with Louisville area native Justin Thomas at Augusta National Golf Club on Tuesday. Woods has not officially said if he will take part in this year’s Masters. The 15-time major champion has not played in a PGA Tour event since the 2020 Masters. He suffered leg and foot injuries in a car accident in February of last year.
