Fire destroyed an abandoned home just north of Elkton Wednesday afternoon.
Todd County sheriff’s deputies discovered the structure on fire at 1355 Greenville Road just north of Elkton about 3:20 p.m. and called for firefighters while verifying no one was inside.
Elkton, Trenton and Fairview fire departments responded and the structure was a total loss. Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith says the house had been abandoned for some time and was in poor condition.
Cause of the blaze is unknown and there were no reports of injuries.
