The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has awarded $41,400 in County Road Aid Emergency Funds to Trigg County.
A news release says the funds are for erosion repairs at the Long Pond Branch Bridge near the north end of Adams Mill Road, about a mile southwest of KY 139. Officials say flash flooding has caused the stream to erode the bank near the bridge, creating a threat to the integrity of the roadway and bridge structure. The county plans to repair the embankment and place riprap to prevent further erosion at the site.
The Trigg County Road Department plans to start work on the erosion repairs as soon as possible.
