The field for the NCAA Final Four in New Orleans is set and the clock struck midnight for Saint Peter’s on Sunday. The Peacocks fell to North Carolina 69-49 in the East Region final. The Tar Heels are making their first Final Four appearance since 2017 and will face ACC rival Duke on Saturday. Top seed Kansas won the Midwest Region final downing Miami 76-50. The Jayhawks square off with Villanova on Saturday. Kansas will be in the Final Four for the first time since 2018.
Villanova will be without one of their top scorers for the rest of the NCAA Tournament. The school announced Sunday that guard Justin Moore will have surgery on a torn right Achilles later this week. The injury happened in the final minute of Villanova’s 50-44 win over Houston in the Elite Eight on Saturday.
Women’s NCAA: The Louisville Cardinals host Michigan tonight in the final of the Wichita Region. Both teams won semifinal games Saturday, with the Cardinals downing Tennessee 76-64. Tipoff is at 8 pm.
