Small child flown to Nashville hospital after struck by vehicle in Princeton

A small child was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night in Princeton.

It happened just before 7 p.m. and Princeton police say four-year old Garrett Vinson of Princeton was attempting to walk across North Cave Street when he was hit by a northbound pickup.

Vinson was taken first to Caldwell County Medical Center and then flown by Air Evac to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville.

The incident remains under investigation by the Princeton Police Department accident reconstruction officer.
