The suspect charged with murder for the March 12 stabbing death of 31-year old John Michael Kellems at a home on North McPherson Street in Hopkinsville was arraigned Friday morning in Christian District Court.
Hopkinsville police charged 31-year old Lance Bowden of North McPherson with murder, with an arrest citation alleging he used a sharp object to kill Kellems and that a bloody knife was found in the room with Kellems’ body.
As previously reported, Hopkinsville police were called to the residence after a woman returned home and found Kellems’ body.
District Judge Foster Cotthoff entered a not guilty plea on Bowden’s behalf and scheduled a preliminary hearing for April 1.
Bond was set at $500,000.
Bowden was arrested a couple days after the murder for felony auto theft after he allegedly stole a pickup and drove it to work March 14.
He has remained in the Christian County Jail and Detective Randal Greene charged him with Kellem’s murder Thursday afternoon.
