Investigation into thefts and burglaries taking place along Highway 121 in Calloway County involving multiple storage units has led to an arrest.
According to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Department, the thefts occurred just north of Murray and investigation led to the issuance of a search warrant for a vehicle and a residence on Speaker Trail. The vehicle in question was located Monday and the driver, 43-year-old Ricky Young of Murray was taken into custody on a failure to appear warrant for a burglary charge.
A search of the Speaker Trail residence allegedly revealed property that had been taken from the storage units on Highway 121, along with other property from a separate burglary. An arrest warrant was issued for Young in relation to the investigation.
He is charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two-counts of theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief, possession of a controlled substance and a traffic violation.
