Women’s NCAA: Sara Puckett drained a go-ahead three pointer as Tennessee edged Belmont 70-67 in second round play of the Wichita Regional. The Lady Vols improved to 25-8 and face top seed Louisville Saturday at the KFC Yum Center. Game time will be announced later.

Women’s NIT: Vanderbilt advanced routing Liberty 71-45. The Commodores improved to 16-16 and travel to Middle Tennessee Thursday night.

Tonight’s Game: Vanderbilt’s men continue play in the NIT as they visit Xavier. The Commodores are 19-16 while the Musketeers are 20-13. Tipoff is at 8 pm.

ESPN reports South Carolina has agreed to a five-year deal with Chattanooga coach Lamont Paris. Paris went 87-72 during his five seasons leading Chattanooga, and led the team to the NCAA Tournament this year. He replaces Frank Martin, who was fired by the program after a ten-year run last week. The school is expected to officially announce Paris’ hiring later this week.
