The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council is joining forces with multiple agencies to host a job fair for local students to take advantage of.
Appearing on WHOP Friday morning, Executive Director Carter Hendricks says Jobfest 2022 will take place April 28 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Hopkinsville Sportsplex and he says it will be a great opportunity for students who plan to enter the workforce right out of high school.
He says local industries have good, starting positions that pay well and they’re looking for employees—Hendricks says they’re working close with the school systems to make sure students know what options are available to them.
For any business or agency or industry that’s interested in taking part, they can go online to southwesternky.com—which is where anyone who wants to participate as individual can find out more information as well.
Hendricks says the EDC continue to promote the area’s attractions and strong positives to interested industries—including the newly opened spec building—while advocating to improvements to local infrastructure and tax structures to help make the region a better place to live, work and play.
