Suspect in Car Outlet robbery gains new attorney

One of the men charged in connection with an alleged robbery that occurred in October of 2019 at Car Outlet on Fort Campbell Boulevard now has a new attorney.

Defense attorney James Chamberlain is stepping in to represent Charles Hollowell while waiting for the Department of Public Advocacy to assign someone to the case, but he says he full intends to try and resolve the case before that happens.

He asked for a two-week continuance to do so, which was granted by Christian Circuit Judge John Atkins who told Hollowell that even if it isn’t resolved at the time, he’ll hear arguments for bond modification.

Hollowell’s co-defendant, Tony Earl Jones, also had a pretrial hearing set for March 30, to keep the cases together.

Hopkinsville police allege Hollowell and Jones forced their way into Car Outlet while wearing Halloween masks, assaulted an employee and fled with cash.
