Pretrial hearing set in East 13th St. attempted murder case

Proceedings were continued once again Wednesday morning in the attempted murder case against Anthony Dyson, the man charged in connection to a January 1, 2021 shooting incident on East 13th Street.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling informed the court he’s learned more information about another potential defendant in relation to the case, and he wants to be sure he has all the facts before moving forward in the case.

Both parties agreed to a continuance and another pretrial hearing was set for May 4.

As previously reported, two Hopkinsville police officers were responding to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of East 13th Street just after midnight on New Year’s Day last year and found a man holding a gun standing on the front porch of a home.

Dyson is accused of being that man who allegedly took off running and fired two shots—with one going through a civilian vehicle and striking the rear of the occupied unmarked HPD cruiser.
