Novelis approved for state incentives for expansion project

Todd Fiscal Court met in special session Wednesday morning and did its part in approving Novelis to receive state incentives for its recently announced expansion project.

Novelis recently announced it will be creating approximately 140 new jobs with a $365 million investment as they construct a recycling center near their existing facility on Old Railroad Lane in Guthrie.

Todd County Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield says the Kentucky Economic Development Fund has approved $1 million in incentives over the next few years that are tied to job creation and income thresholds.

While the cash comes from the state and not the county, approval from Todd Fiscal Court was still required to get the go-ahead. Construction of the recycling center is expected to begin in May.
