ESPN reported Friday Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement on a one-year contract worth $17 million, keeping the future Hall of Fame pitcher with the only organization for which he’s ever played. The deal, which is pending a physical, also includes a possible $5 million in performance bonuses.

NBA

Ja Morant had 15 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter as the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the New York Knicks 118-112 last night. Morant also had eight assists and four rebounds in the victory. Memphis visits Oklahoma City Sunday night.

NHL

The Nashville Predators welcome the St. Louis Blues in a rare matinee game at Bridgestone Arena today. First puck drops at 11:30 am.

Golf

Rain forced stoppage of the first round again Friday at the PGA Tour’s Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Brice Garrett through 13 holes of the first round is at six under, tied with clubhouse leaders Tommy Fleetwood and Tom Hoge. Defending champion Justin Thomas is at two under through 15 holes of his first round. 47 players need to complete their first round which will begin no earlier than 10 am Central time today. Tour officials say as of now, the course has received three inches of rain in the last two days and it will be Monday before play concludes.
