A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for western Kentucky and middle Tennessee as a late-winter snowfall could cause some travel impacts.
The National Weather Service in Paducah continues to forecast one and a half to two inches of snow in Christian, Todd and Trigg counties—with most of the accumulation to happen in the late evening and overnight hours as temperatures fall.
It will take a while for road surfaces to cool, so it could be very late in the evening or early Saturday morning before snow begins to stick to the pavement. Bridges and overpasses will certainly become treacherous sooner than roads.
Anyone planning to travel late tonight or early Saturday morning should allow themselves extra time and use abundant caution.
Temperatures will struggle to get to the freezing mark Saturday afternoon, but a big warmup comes Sunday with temperatures in the 50’s and it’ll be in the 70’s by the middle of next week.
