Quarterfinal play at the Girls Sweet 16 saw Southwestern advance to the semifinals with a 47-40 win over Franklin County. They will face tomorrow morning at 10 am Central after Bullitt East downed Meade County 62-47. Bowling Green meets Cooper in the first evening quarterfinal game at 5 pm Central in Rupp Arena followed by Sacred Heart and George Rogers Clark.
The Courier Journal mentioned in a social media post this is the final year of the four year contract to play the Girls Sweet 16 in Rupp Arena. KHSAA Commissioner Julian Tackett says they are in early negotiations to continue playing the event in Lexington.
