What could be the last snowfall of the winter is expected to hit western Kentucky Friday night and Saturday morning and a winter weather advisory has been issued for all of western Kentucky from 6 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday morning.
Kevin Smith with the National Weather Service says expect rain showers to change to snow late Friday night in Christian, Todd and Trigg counties, with the bulk of the snow to fall in those areas between 8 p.m. at 4 a.m.
An inch and a half to two inches of snow is expected to accumulate and roads could become slick—especially bridges and overpasses—but Smith says they expect impacts to remain fairly minor.
Christine Wielgos is the warning coordination meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Paducah and says temperatures could be in the teens Saturday morning and the highs will be in the lower 30’s before a big warmup begins Sunday.
