Another pretrial hearing was set in the murder case against Montie Streeval in Trigg Circuit Court Wednesday, who is charged in the shooting death of 25-year old Cameron Phillips.
Public defender Cody Hooks informed the court he needs more time to go over both evidence and a possible resolution with Streeval, so he requested another pretrial hearing be set.
Judge C.A. Woody Woodall set a pretrial hearing for April 13. Phillips’ body was found August 6 in a wood line near Old Rocky Point Road. Kentucky State Police Detective David Dick testified during a preliminary hearing recently and says investigation determined Phillips died from a single gunshot wound to the head. Streeval allegedly admitted to driving Phillips to Trigg County for a drug deal.
Detective Dick says Streeval has neither admitted nor denied killing Phillips. Streeval is charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
