Opening round games at the Girls Sweet 16 saw Meade County defeat Boyd County 53-46 and Bullitt East downed Bethlehem 63-50. Meade County will meet Bullitt East in the second quarterfinal game Friday afternoon at 12:30 Central time at Rupp Arena.

ESPN reports LSU has received a Notice of Allegations related to potential violations in the men’s basketball program. The notice includes several cases including LSU’s ties to the federal investigation that became public in 2017. The notice is expected to put the future of head coach Will Wade in jeopardy again.

The Indianapolis Colts are trading quarterback Carson Wentz after one season to the Washington Commanders for a series of draft picks, according to ESPN. A source also says Washington will pay Wentz’s 2022 contract valued at $28 million, including a $5 million bonus due next wee. Wentz was acquired by the Colts from the Philadelphia Eagles last February.
