Arraignment was held Friday morning in Christian District Court for the man charged with complicity to murder in connection with the Wednesday night shooting death of 19-year old Alijah Watts of Hopkinsville at Casey’s General Store on Fort Campbell Boulevard and two teenagers have been taken into custody for their alleged roles in the killing.
Hopkinsville police say the 16-year old they had been searching for was located and arrested on the strength of a pick up and detain order for murder. Officer Mike Atkins said another juvenile was also arrested for his alleged role in the crime and is charged with murder.
As previously reported, Hopkinsville police charged 20-year old Christian McKeel of Hopkinsville with complicity to murder, alleging he admitted to assisting the two juveniles execute a robbery of the victim.
McKeel expressed reservations when Judge Foster Cotthoff asked if he understood the charges, leading the judge to read him the arrest citation.
Judge Cotthoff entered a not guilty plea on his behalf and set bond at $500,000, determining McKeel to be a danger to the community.
A preliminary hearing for McKeel was scheduled for Friday of next week.
