Clarksville police have released the identities of the victim and the suspect after a man was shot to death late Tuesday night in front of the Fort Campbell Boulevard Walmart.
Officers responded to a shooting in progress just before midnight and found a male victim, identified as 55-year-old William Eakes Jr., near the doors with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Tennova Health Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Officers took 42-year-old Christopher Clark into custody after he was found coming out of the woods near Planet Fitness on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Clarksville. He is facing a first-degree murder charge.
