The captain of the 1948 Brewers state champion basketball team has died. Barney Thweatt also was a coach, teacher and school administrator, even serving a stint as principal at Christian County High School. The Brewers team he captained in 1948 went a perfect 36-0 and to this day is the late undefeated state championship team. Thweatt was inducted into the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.
