Todd County Public School System students who ride the bus will no long be required to wear a mask, effective Monday.
The district says the change in guidance is in accordance with a change in CDC guidance which no longer recommends universal indoor mask wearing in K-12 schools and early education settings in areas with a low or medium COVID-19 Community Level.
Todd County is currently the only yellow county on Kentucky’s COVID incidence rate map in the region.
Masking was already optional inside Todd County school buildings, but the bus masking mandate had remained in effect because of federal requirements.
The district reminds that any student who wishes to wear a mask in school or on a bus will be welcome to do so.
