Pro Land Realty is purchasing just over three acres of land near the Todd County Senior Center from the City of Elkton and Todd County Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield told Fiscal Court Friday morning that they are interested in purchasing an adjacent half-acre that belongs to the county.
Judge Mansfield says the $3.5 million development could create up to 30 new jobs with 32 to 36 living spaces.
A grant application is pending for funds to renovate the Todd County Senior Center and a grant has already been received to construct a new Todd County Public Library on land near the City-County Park.
No action was taken Friday, but Judge Mansfield says magistrates could see a proposal for sale of the land in the coming weeks.
Todd County Jailer Jeff Penick told magistrates he’s currently housing 107 state inmates and 20 local inmates.
