A Christian County Grand Jury returned indictments for first-degree assault and wanton endangerment Friday.

Indicted for first-degree assault is 36-year old Isaac Benjamin of Hopkinsville. He is alleged to have caused broken bones and other major injuries to a 43-year old Pembroke woman during the incident that happened on South Virginia Street in January.

Also indicted for first-degree assault is 43-year-old Joshua Rush, who is alleged to have been in a physical altercation with a male victim who he stabbed in the right ear with a knife on January 28, causing serious physical injury.

Two Hopkinsville residents, 18-year old Christopher Jones and 18-year old Dequavion Guillemet, were both indicted for six counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and two counts of first-degree criminal mischief in relation to a shooting incident that occurred in October 2021. They allegedly fired guns from a vehicle toward a group of people on East 18th on October 19.

Police say as they fired their weapons, a school bus traveled down the street the opposite direction and narrowly missed being struck by the gunfire. There were two adults and four children on the bus at the time.

The alleged driver of the vehicle they were traveling in, 18-year old Kaileigh Shay Baker of Russellville, was also indicted for six counts of wanton endangerment and two counts of criminal mischief for allegedly facilitating the reported crimes.
