The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library has been awarded a $1,000 grant from Hopkinsville Electric System and Tennessee Valley Authority.
A news release says it’s a joint program with both organizations to extend the Community Care Fund program in 2022 to assist local community organizations during the ongoing COVID crisis.
Financial contributions from HES were matched by TVA to provide funding to the United Way, Hopkinsville Christian County Public Library and the Christian County Rescue Team to help them continue to meet the needs of our community during these difficult times.
Since this program began in April 2020, HES has provided nearly $30,000 to local non-profit entities to provide assistance to those most impacted by the pandemic.
HES General Manager Jeff Hurd says, “One of the reasons the Community Care Fund has been so successful is that local power companies have the ability to select the charities and organizations locally that will most effectively reach people who are still struggling with the impact of the pandemic.”
