Tie Breaker Family Aquatic Center to be closed for repairs in 2022 season

The Tie Breaker Family Aquatic Center will be closed for its 2022 season, to allow for major repairs to be made to water lines beneath the pool floor.

According to a news release, the water park must close due to the length of time the repairs are expected to take—which could be between six and eight months, pending approval of funds from Hopkinsville City Council.

The estimated cost of repairing the pipes is $375,000, but Public Works also hopes to address overall facility repairs and upgrades after 15 years of operation, including upgrading the play structure in the zero-depth end of the pool which would cost approximately $550,000.

Repairs will require removing the pool liner and breaking concrete to locate the exact location of a significant leak in the zero-entry portion of the pool where the children spray structure is located.
