Senate resolution would end Kentucky’s pandemic state of emergency March 7

A Kentucky Senate committee will soon consider a resolution that would end the commonwealth’s pandemic state of emergency, effective March 7.

State Senator Whitney Westerfield of Christian County is a co-sponsor of the resolution that would end any executive orders, administrative statutes or other COVID-related directives that rely on the state of emergency declared by Governor Andy Beshear on March 6 of 2020.

Senator Westerfield believes that with vaccines, treatments and other measures in place, Kentucky is ready to move past the pandemic state of emergency.

Meanwhile in the House, Representative Myron Dossett expects a transportation budget to be heard in committee as soon as next week and says he’s been advocating for additional widening of KY 115 between Pembroke and Oak Grove and for safety upgrades in the area of Lafayette Road and Lovers Lane with construction to begin soon on the new high school.
