Oak Grove, Muhlenberg Co. dispatchers graduate from state academy

A woman hired to be an emergency dispatcher for the City of Oak Grove has graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Public Safety Dispatch Academy.

Angela Hill, who will dispatch for Oak Grove police, was one of 20 graduates who completed 164 hours of academy instruction to satisfy mandated training requirements over four weeks.

Major training areas include identifying the role and responsibilities of the dispatcher, correct phone and radio procedures, handling emergency and non-emergency calls for service, emergency medical dispatch protocols and use of the state and national criminal databases.

Muhlenberg County dispatchers Madison Burket and Autumn Deason were also among the graduating class.
