Man arrested on drug, gun charges at Sivley Rd. residence

An investigation Thursday on Sivley Road led to the arrest of a Lexington man on multiple felony charges.

Officers were called to a home in the 400 block of Sivley just before 4 p.m. after the residents asked 21-year old Charron Mays of Lexington to leave and he refused and an arrest citation says police were told Mays had a gun and drugs.

Police say they located a handgun under a baby bed in Mays’ room and suspected heroin in an altered shaving cream bottle that was in the baby’s diaper bag. Mays reportedly admitted ownership of the gun, but said he was holding the narcotics for someone else.

He was arrested and charged with trafficking in heroin, violation of an EPO, using restricted ammunition during commission of a felony, tampering with evidence, first-degree wanton endangerment and trafficking in a controlled substance.
