Wind Advisory today and Thursday, risk for severe weather Thursday

All of western Kentucky and middle Tennessee are now under a slight risk for severe weather Thursday and a Wind Advisory is in effect for today and Thursday for gusty winds outside of any thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service says the risk for severe storms will be greatest between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday and while the primary threat is damaging winds, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Heavy rain will also be possible, with the Pennyrile region expected to receive between an inch and an inch and a half of rain.

The Wind Advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. today and from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday, with sustained south winds of 15 to 20 mph expected and gusts as high as 45 mph expected. Unsecured objects are likely to be blown around, some tree limbs could be brought down and traveling will be made more difficult for drivers of high-profile vehicles—especially those traveling east-west oriented roads.
