Kroger ‘Shop and Share’ event to benefit Sanctuary, Inc. Saturday

Three Kroger stores in the Pennyrile region will be supporting Sanctuary, Inc. Saturday as part of the statewide “Shop and Share” initiative to benefit domestic violence shelters.

Kentucky First Lady Britainy Beshear says nearly half of women will be a victim of some type of domestic violence in their lifetime.

Sanctuary, Inc. provides a safe shelter for women and their children in the region and volunteers at the Kroger stores in Hopkinsville, Powderly and Madisonville will be collecting non-perishable food items, diapers, personal care items, housekeeping supplies, over the counter medications, gift cards and other necessities from 9 until 5 Saturday as customers shop for Super Bowl Sunday.

Over the last 10 years, Shop and Share Saturdays have netted domestic violence shelters across Kentucky over $4.5 million in supplies and funds.
