A Lewisburg man was charged with attempted murder following a shooting incident Friday afternoon in Russellville.
A news release from Russellville police says investigation determined 64-year old Lester Childress of Lewisburg was in a verbal dispute with a woman in the parking lot of USA Fuel. As the woman and child attempted to leave, Childress allegedly retrieved a shotgun from his vehicle and fired shots toward the victims, hitting the vehicle multiple times.
The victims were not injured and Childress was later arrested while traveling KY 100 in Simpson County.
Childress was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and discharge of a firearm across a public road.
