Man arrested for burglary, violating DVO

An investigation on North O’Neal Avenue Thursday night led to the arrest of a man for burglary and violation of an emergency protective order.

An arrest citation for 27-year old Edward Calhoun of Hopkinsville says he knocked on the back door at the home of a woman who had taken out an order for him to stay away. When the woman went to the door, he allegedly shoved it open and forced his way inside.

Calhoun was still on scene when police arrived and reportedly admitted he fully understood the DVO that was taken out against him.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary and violation of an EPO/DVO.
