Second arrest made in October shooting incident

A second arrest has been made in connection with an October shooting incident on East 18th Street where a school bus narrowly missed being struck by gunfire.

Hopkinsville police served an arrest warrant for six counts of first-degree wanton endangerment against 18-year old Christopher Jones of Hopkinsville, alleging he and his co-defendant—18-year old Dequavion Guillemet of Hopkinsville—fired guns from a vehicle toward a group of people on East 18th on October 19.

Police say as they fired their weapons, a school bus traveled down the street the opposite direction and narrowly missed being struck by the gunfire. There were two adults and four children on the bus at the time.

Jones was lodged in the Christian County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
