One hurt, one arrested in Princeton wreck

One person was hurt and another arrested following a two-vehicle collision in Princeton Wednesday night.

According to a news release from the Princeton Police Department, the collision occurred at the intersection of South Jefferson Street and Edwards Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Tyriek Palmer of Madisonville was headed north on South Jefferson when he attempted to turn left at Edwards Avenue and turned into the path of another vehicle operated by 28-year-old Ashley Coleman of Madisonville.

A passenger in Palmer’s vehicle, 20-year-old Jeila Fitzgerald of Madisonville, was transported to Caldwell County Hospital for treatment of injuries.  Coleman and Palmer were not injured.

Palmer was allegedly discovered to be under the influence—he was arrested and charged with second-offense DUI, driving on a DUI suspended license, and possession of marijuana.
