Arraignment was held Thursday in Christian District Court for the man accused in the fatal shooting from Wednesday morning on Richard Street.
Judge Foster Cotthoff entered a not guilty plea on behalf of 43-year old Daron Bell of Hopkinsville and appointed him a public defender.
Judge Cotthoff left Bell’s bond at $500,000, determining he’s a danger to the community.
Hopkinsville police say Bell admitted to shooting 36-year old Gregory Burse in the upper torso at 607 Richard Street early Wednesday morning. Burse was pronounced dead at Jennie Stuart Medical Center and Bell was soon arrested at another location.
