Man served with Hopkins, Jefferson County warrants for strangulation, assault

A man sought on warrants for strangulation charges in Louisville and Madisonville was arrested Wednesday morning by Hopkinsville police.

A Hopkins County warrant alleges that on October 20 of last year, 34-year old Charles Hobson of Hopkinsville choked a woman and threatened to break her jaw during a dispute on Daves Street in Madisonville.

Another warrant alleges that on September 17 of 2020 in Jefferson County, Hobson strangled a woman with both hands around her neck while threatening to kill her and saying that they needed to be together.

He’s charged with first-degree strangulation, fourth-degree assault and terroristic threatening in both incidents.

He was also served with separate warrants for fourth-degree assault, failure to appear in court and escape.
