Theme announced for 72nd WHOP Rotary Radio Auction

It’s a little less than three months away and the chair of the 72nd WHOP Rotary Radio Auction announced this year’s theme at Tuesday afternoon’s meeting.

University of Tennessee fan Andrew Wilson is the auction chair and says “A Volunteer Tradition” will be this year’s mantra—though the wording is more of a tip of the hat to those who make the club successful than it is to Rocky Top.

He says Rotary’s immensely successful auction and efforts to send local high school graduates to college is especially important to him as he hopes to help create a better community for the next generation.

The auction will go from April 18-23, it will begin at 6 p.m. each night and it will again air on Lite Rock 98.7 and online at lite987whop.com. All of the popular auction attractions will be back, including the diner, Boston butts and sweet shop.

Wilson did not set a fundraising goal for this year’s auction.
