MORNING SPORTS BRIEFS 2/1/22

NFL

Tom Brady is still deciding what his NFL future will be. Speaking on the “Let’s Go!” podcast, Brady said he is still going through the process and says “when the time is right” is when he will make a decision one way or another. Brady has won a record seven Super Bowl championships and five Super Bowl MVP awards in his 22-year career.

While many people wish the day after the Super Bowl could be a holiday, Cincinnati Public Schools is making it so. The district announced Monday that they have amended their school calendar to give students and staff the day off after the Super Bowl. The Cincinnati Bengals are in their first Super Bowl since 1989. In a letter to parents obtained by ESPN, the district cited “celebrating the Bengals first Super Bowl victory” as the reason for calling off the Monday after the game.

MLB

Major League Baseball and the players association are still working to end the league’s current lockout. ESPN reports the sides will meet again today as they look to reach a deal on a new collective bargaining agreement. It’s reported that a deal would need to be reached today in order to avoid delaying the start of spring training camps.
