Man arrested in connection with Clarksville Waffle House shooting was out on bond for murder charge

A suspect arrested for his alleged connection to the shooting Sunday morning at the Fort Campbell Boulevard Waffle House in Clarksville was out on bond after being indicted for a 2018 homicide.

Clarksville police say 28-year-old Mark Ellis was arrested for his involvement in the shooting that occurred Sunday. While serving the arrest warrant, Ellis was allegedly found with a loaded firearm and a felony amount of narcotics.

Ellis is facing two new charges of a felon in possession of a firearm.  He has also been charged with possession of narcotics for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was indicted and arrested in July of last year for the June 17, 2018 murder of 22-year old Taren Lyles, who was found in the driver’s seat of her vehicle with gunshot wounds in the area of Main and 11th Street in Clarksville. He was released on bond in August.

Investigation continues into the shooting at Waffle House. As previously reported, two people were taken to local hospitals and one was flown to a hospital in Nashville.
