Chris Mack & Louisville agree to separate

Chris Mack is out as Louisville’s basketball coach. The U of L Athletic Association and the board of trustees jointly approved Mack’s separation agreement Wednesday. Associate head coach Mike Pegues will be the Cardinals’ interim head coach for the rest of the season. Mack’s original contract buyout was around 12-million dollars, but it was negotiated down to 4.8 million dollars as part of the separation agreement, according to ESPN. The Cardinals sit at 11-and-9 this season and host Duke on Saturday.
