Arraignment held for man charged in double-murder

Arraignment was held Thursday morning in Christian District Court for the man accused of killing two people at Ashwood Village in August of 2021.

District Judge Lindsey Adams read the charges of two-counts of murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, first-degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon against 32-year old Anthony Gaines of Hopkinsville and appointed him a public defender.

Judge Adams left Gaines’ bond at $1 million cash and he remains in the Christian County Jail.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday served Gaines with a warrant for the shooting deaths of Kierra Wallace and George Gomez.
