Man arrested for drug trafficking following foot pursuit

An investigation on Durrett Avenue Thursday afternoon led to a foot pursuit and arrest of a man on drug trafficking charges.

Hopkinsville police went to a home in the 1400 block of Durrett after being told a vehicle connected to a man sought on warrants was located in that area.

The vehicle was running and in the driveway of a residence and an arrest citation for 27-year old Dytarius Parrow of Hopkinsville says he was observed going out and then back into the house.

Police say Parrow ran when he saw an officers near the side of the home and believing Parrow was the man wanted on warrants, the officer pursued him until Parrow attempted to hide behind a vehicle on Parrish Place.

He eventually came out after allegedly hiding a bag under the vehicle and a search of the bag turned up two pounds of marijuana and approximately $2,000.

Parrow was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana, tampering with evidence, fleeing or evading police and possession of drug paraphernalia.
