Ky. adds 12,583 COVID cases, 25 deaths

COVID-19 is more prevalent than ever in the Commonwealth thanks to the omicron variant, with the state reporting 12,583 new cases Wednesday.

Along with those new cases, the positivity rate is now at 30.77 percent and the death toll is at 12,639, after reporting 25 new COVID deaths. All 120 Kentucky counties remain β€˜red’ on the COVID-19 state incidence rate map.

There are currently 2,256 individuals in the hospital with coronavirus, 455 in the ICU and 252 on a ventilator.
