A possible resolution is in the works for 16-year old Richard Rawlins Jr., who is charged with murder in the October shooting death of Alex Updegrove.
Rawlins appeared virtually with public defenders Rick Sanborne and Munroe Graham, with Graham stating her client is currently look over paperwork that would resolve the case and they need more time to go over it.
With no objection from the Commonwealth, Judge Andrew Self set another pretrial hearing for Monday, with the intent to either resolve the case or set it for trial at that time.
As previously reported, Rawlins is alleged to have pointed a gun at the victim while they were at a residence in the 400 block of Fairview Drive, saying he should ‘just shoot him’. He then allegedly loaded the gun and fired it, shooting the 19-year old Updegrove.
