University of Tennessee coach Josh Heupel has been named as one of the two winners of the 2021 Steve Spurrier First Year Coach Award. Heupel led the Vols in his first season to a 7-6 record and an appearance in the Music City Bowl where they lost in overtime 48-45 to Purdue. Heupel is also the first two time winner of this award as he won it in 2018 while at Central Florida. He joins South Carolina’s Shane Beamer in sharing the 2021 award.
